‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Ellen Pompeo snaps at ‘old white guy tv docs’
Ellen Pompeo might just play a doctor on Grey’s Anatomy but she is not impressed with the likes of Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz who have faced backlash for their comments on COVID-19.
Grey’s Anatomy has already wrapped up for the season, and Ellen Pompeo has been firmly standing behind doctors and nurses from the sidelines as she practices social distancing. However, she’s clearly not behind the tv doctors that have been going against what most health professionals advice — like Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz.
The actress tweeted about the issue without actually mentioning them by name saying, “the old white guy tv docs who say stupid selfish shit should yes …walk that shit right back.”
Also the old white guy tv docs who say stupid selfish shit should yes …walk that shit riht back .to your lazy boys and sit your stupid asses down in your living rooms on your golf courses where you live..tired out of touch old fools don’t get me started today

She later tweeted another dig at them saying, “Also to those out of touch tv docs which I’m sure they would call me lol…you took an oath so so many years ago to do no harm… making careless statements in this environment when so many healthcare workers are suffering physically and emotionally….is defying that oath.”

Dr. Phil has faced backlash for comparing the deaths of COVID-19 to car accidents or smoking when he appeared on Fox News. He later appeared on a Facebook Live video to talk about it and claimed that he had used bad examples in his original comments.
Meanwhile, Dr. Oz faced backlash for his comments on opening schools back up. He’d stated on Fox News that schools opening again, “may only cost us 2 to 3 percent in terms of total mortality.” He later released a video on Twitter saying that he had misspoke.
There is a lot of information being thrown around on the internet and on television these days with many people scared from uncertain futures. Hopefully, those in the spotlight will carefully consider what they’re adding to the discussion.
