More cast members are making themselves feel at home for the Home Alone reboot!

Three new actors have joined the cast, Kenan Thompson, Ally Maki, and Chris Parnell have signed on to Disney+’s Home Alone.

They join previously announced child star, Archie Yates who had his astounding break out in Jojo Rabbit. Those who were already announced also include Ellie Kemper from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and comedian Rob Delaney.

Disney+ has said that this isn’t necessarily a remake of the classic 1990 film by 20th Century Fox, but rather a reboot of the franchise. They haven’t released an official plot for the new Home Alone film is rumored to follow a young boy who is at war with a couple believed to be Kemper and Delaney, over a stolen figurine.

The film had been in production, but when the pandemic hit they halted filming in mid-March. Currently there is no word on when production will pick back up, but with this new casting announcement it might be sooner that we thought.

The reboot is being directed by Dan Mazer and written by Saturday Night Live writers Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell.

Last year Bob Iger also announced that other 20th Century Fox franchises would join the reboot of Home Alone on Disney+ including Cheaper by the Dozen, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Night at the Museum.
