With No Strings Attached turning twenty years old this week, Lance Bass is revealing where *NSYNC stands on a reunion.
The members of *NSYNC may be middle-aged now but that doesn’t mean that the demand for a reunion has gone down. If anything, with No Strings Attached turning twenty years old fans are even more curious to see if the group will make a comeback.
In an interview with Variety, Lance Bass revealed that, “We’ve been talking about it.”
The other members of *NSYNC are set to appear on “The Daily Popcast With Lance Bass,” in celebration of the big milestone. That’s right — Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Joey Fatone will each appear in an episode this week.
“No plans have been made,” Bass clarified on the possibility of a reunion. “If there will even be plans, who knows? … I think if we did anything, it would be for the fun of it — the world needs something fun to listen to and I think we could bring some positivity to it. That’s what we need right now. It could be something simple to test it out, and if it works, it works and if it doesn’t, it doesn’t.”
According to Bass, fans will have a better understanding of where the group stands on the possibility of a reunion once the interviews are released. Each member will have an interview released individually, and Saturday’s anniversary special features podcast co-hosts Peachy Keen (Jess Keener) and Giggles (Lisa Delcampo) asking the members rapid-fire questions.
The group has been on hiatus since 2002, with the members going off in different directions with their lives. They briefly reunited on stage at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards for Timberlake’s Video Vanguard Award. And more recently appeared with Ariana Grande for a surprise appearance at Coachella 2019, minus Timberlake.
A reunion might hinge entirely on Timberlake who continues to release music in his solo career. Bass stated, “He’s the only [bandmate] I haven’t interviewed before, so I’m super excited to delve into what his life’s like now, talk about No Strings Attached and that era, ask what that transition was like and get his opinions on the future of *NSYNC.”
