Marvel Studios dropped a short video today celebrating the past phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe before giving fans a tease of what is to come over the next few years.
Accompanied by a touching voice over by the iconic Stan Lee, the video started with a plethora of iconic clips from the past movies in the epic franchise. Following that we were treated with new teasers for two of the upcoming additions to the MCU.
The most exciting news was the first glimpse that the upcoming Eternals movie, which is directed by Oscar winner Chloé Zhao. It showed these new-to-the-screen superheroes introducing Richard Madden as Icarus, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh and Angelina Jolie’s Thena. Eternals hits theaters November 5th.
We then got to see a quick tease for the upcoming Black Widow film which will be released July 9th, before being treated to the rest of the Phase 4 MCU slate for 2021 and beyond. Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings will arrive in theaters on September 3rd, and will be followed by Spider-Man: No Way Home on December 17th.
Debuting in 2022 is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on March 25, 2022, then Thor: Love and Thunder on May 6, 2022, followed by Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on July 8, 2022, and The Marvels on November 11, 2022.
In 2023, first up will be Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania on February 17, 2023, and the newly announced date for Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 on May 5, 2023. The announcements ended with a logo for the new Fantastic Four movie but didn’t give a date for when it might be expected.
