Sidney Prescott hasn’t escaped her Ghostface tormenter just yet. The original Scream star Neve Campbell is once again returning to Woodsboro for a new film.
A brand new Scream movie coming down the pike from Spyglass and Paramount Pictures. It is being branded “relaunch” of the series by Radio Silence Productions.
In her announcement, Campbell said, “After spending time speaking with Radio Silence, they have shown such love, respect and admiration for [original film director] Wes Craven and all that he’s created in the Scream franchise. I am beyond excited to step back into the role of Sidney Prescott and return to Woodsboro.”
Radio Silence also released a statement discussing their excitment for Campbell returning to her iconic role. “It’s hard to express how much the character Sidney Prescott shaped our love of movies and to have the chance to work with Neve Campbell is truly a dream come true,” said the production company. “It just wouldn’t be a Scream movie without Neve and we’re so excited and honored to join her in Woodsboro.”
Neve isn’t the only original cast member returning to Woodsboro, actors David Arquette and Courtney Cox are also set to return to reprise their roles as Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers!
New cast members also include Dylan Minnette (13 Reasons Why), Mason Gooding (Love, Victor) and Mikey Madison (Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood)
