Yes yes yes here we go, *NSYNC has got the flow… in an upcoming movie about the boy band’s superfans!

Most people know Rachel Bloom as a writer, creator, and star of the hit CW show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Well now the talented entertainment creator has announced that, along with Sony Pictures/Tristar, she will be writing and producing a movie about *NSYNC’s two biggest superfans.

The movie is based on an idea by Lance Bass, one of the band members, who will also be a producer. It is based on real-life best friends Meredith Sandberg and Winter Byington, who won a Winnebago on the game show The Price Is Right and then spent a summer following *NSYNC on their last world tour.

In the announcement on Thursday, Bloom said, “I’m so excited to work on this road trip musical that will explore the nature of early 2000’s nostalgia and if the past was, indeed, actually better. Also… I GET TO WORK WITH LANCE BASS!”

Bass has had this idea for a movie for some time now. The idea started to percolate about 20 years ago when superfans Sandberg and Byington got his attention after appearing on TRL. “It was just a really cool story and I knew at that moment, I’m like, ‘This is going to be the best movie one day. I cannot wait.'”

As of right now we don’t know if the movie will be a jukebox musical with only *NSYNC songs or if Bloom will be flexing her songwriting talents again and write some new originals for the film. Maybe a possibility of both since there is a band member on board.

One thing better be true, this could finally be the moment the world gets the *NSYNC reunion we have all been waiting for!

Don't Miss
