‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ sets season 2 premiere and announces season 3 renewal

Sashay you STAY! RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is officially sashaying down the runway for 2 more seasons!

It was announced on Monday that the second season of Drag Race UK will premiere early next year! The British spin-off of the Emmy-winning competition series has set the season 2 premiere date for early 2021. In some very exciting news it was also confirmed that the UK’s top drag queen reality show has been renewed for season 3!

RuPaul himself made the announcement, “Looking forward to better days! I’m happy to announced the triumphant return of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK,” Mama Ru said, they went on to say that Drag Race UK season 3 is currently searching for more queens to compete. “Early in 2021, season 2 will arrive with all the hope, joy, laughter, and glitter you’ve come to expect from our brilliant queens. We’re also currently casting season 3 with the best and brightest Great Britain has to offer.”

The first season aired in the fall of 2019 and crowned The Vivienne as the winner. The first season featured superstar guests the like of Andrew Garfield, Geri Halliwell, Cheryl, Maisie Williams, and Michaela Coel. Unlike the other international iterations, RuPaul was the main judge and was joined by Michelle Visage, Alan Carr, and Graham Norton.

The UK iteration of the Drag Race franchise is probably most watched international version. Other drag queen competitions are airing in Thailand, Chile, Canada, and Holland which is about to crown its inaugural winner on Thursday.

British viewers will be able to tune in to RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season 2 on the BBC Three. Fans worldwide will able to see the series on the WOW Presents Plus subscription streaming app the same day new episodes debut in Britain.
