The 2020 Tony Award Nominations have arrived
You know the saying. The show must go on! The 2020 Tony Awards are pushing onwards and have announced the nominations.
The pandemic has hit the theatre industry hard. Broadway hasn’t had a show since March and the theatres are planning on staying dark for public safety at least until June of 2021. No plays, no musicals, for over a year. It is the one entertainment industry that relies on a physical audience for success. The industry will be forever changed going forward.
But for the 2020 season, Broadway’s biggest night will go on with the 74th Tony Awards. This year there are eighteen eligible shows- all of which opened before Broadway shutdown on March 12.
