Netflix has added the accomplished actress Elizabeth Debicki to the royal family for seasons 5 and 6 of The Crown.
“Princess Diana’s spirit, her words and her actions live in the hearts of so many,” Debicki said in a statement. “It is my true privilege and honour to be joining this masterful series, which has had me absolutely hooked from episode one.”

Debicki will be taking over the role from Emma Corrin who is playing Princess Diana in the forthcoming 4th season of the British royal family drama. Corrin will be establishing Diana as a character in the series but we don’t know yet how much of season 4 Princess Diana will be featured in. The final two seasons are said to cover the 1990’s into the early 2000’s and will include the break-up of Princess Diana and Prince Charles, as well as Diana’s death in 1997.
Debicki can soon be seen in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film Tenet. Her other credits include The Great Gatsby, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Widows, and the series The Night Manager.
Other recent casting news include Jonathan Pryce (Game of Thrones, The Two Popes) replacing Tobias Menzies in the role of Prince Philip. They join Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret and Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II for the final two seasons of The Crown.
Netflix has not announced when season 4 of The Crown will be available on the streamer.
