The first promo for Drew Barrymore’s talk show also features 7-year-old Drew


Drew Barrymore unveils the first promo for her upcoming daytime talk show in the most adorable fashion, by interviewing her 7-year-old self.

Below is the first ad for The Drew Barrymore Show that will be syndicated on CBS. The promo uses footage from her 1982 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson for her breakout role in E.T., with Barrymore digitally swapped in for Carson.

Barrymore says in a letter on her website “From news to pop culture, human interest to comedy – we can have those amazing discussions that we need to have in order to grow! I love exploring everything and finding our way to beauty and wisdom, as well as to the heart and humor in life. I want to reach for an intelligent optimism and just have some fun while doing so. If you’re out there… and this sounds good to you… then thank goodness! Because this is just the beginning.” The show’s format is described as encompassing human interest stories, happy news, lifestyle segments, and celebrity guests.

In an effort to drum up excitement for the new talk show The Drew Barrymore Show website has released a series of behind the scenes videos on the creation of the show. Check out all the videos and much more on the show’s Youtube channel.
