An incredibly action packed trailer for season 2 of The Umbrella Academy brings us back to the 1960’s!
Yesterday Netflix released a trailer for the upcoming season of The Umbrella Academy. As the tagline reads, “Same weird family. New weird problems.” The trailer begins with the Hargreeves siblings being scattered and sent back to 1963. As luck would have it, they brought the apocalypse with them!
Not only do they need to reunite and figure out a way to stop the apocalypse that happens before they technically exist, they also need to find a way to get back to present day with its own apocalypse. Oh, and on top of those casual missions, they have to deal with The Commission still trying to assassinate them all.
A fun little twist at the end of the trailer shows the siblings meeting their future adoptive father, Sir Reginald Hargreeves. We see Five give him a quick run down of their powers and possibly to tell him that he will adopt them 26 years in the future. Since the first season started with his funeral, it is going to be exciting to see how he interacts with them, and maybe change how he raised them in the future. If the mass adoption even happens, because we all know that time travel has major ripple effects to future events.
The trailer also features Here Comes The End, a new song from the series creator Gerard Way, who is also the lead singer of the band My Chemical Romance.
Season 2 of The Umbrella Academy premieres July 31, only on Netflix.
