‘What We Do In The Shadows’ renewed for third season by FX

Nandor, Laszlo, Nadja, Guillermo, and Colin will be back on FX as the network has announced it has renewed What We Do In The Shadows.

“We’re incredibly happy that critics and audiences are all in on [What We Do In The Shadows],” Nick Grad, President, Original Programming, FX Entertainment said in a statement. “Week in and week out, the producers, writers and our amazing cast continue to make one of the funniest and best comedy series on TV.”

Deadline reported that the second season of the FX show What We Do In The Shadows is averaging 3.2M total viewers across linear and digital platforms — which includes FX on Hulu — through its first six episodes.

That number is up 25% on season one, so it’s easy to see why the network renewed the show ahead of its June 10 finale.

What We Do In The Shadows is based on the 2014 mockumentary comedy film of the same name that was directed, written and stared Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi.

The series is likewise a mockumentary style show and follows the lives of four vampires who have lived together for hundreds of years in the New York borough.

What We Do In The Shadows stars Kayvan Novak as Nandor The Relentless, a great warrior and conqueror from the Ottoman Empire; Matt Berry as British vampire Laszlo, and Natasia Demetriou as Nadja, Laszlo’s lover.

Joining them is Harvey Guillén’s Guillermo, Nandor’s familiar, who wants nothing more than to be made a real vampire, and Mark Proksch as Colin Robinson, an energy vampire and day-walker of sorts — he feasts on humans, but not on their blood.

Season 2 featured Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Craig Robinson as an aspiring vampire slayer and Mark Hamill as a vampire searching for Laszlo because he owed him money.

What We Do in the Shadows season 2 is currently airing on FX, with the season finale scheduled for June 10. You can currently stream all of season 1 on Hulu!
