Lady Gaga will perform at this year’s VMAs for the first time since 2013!
Gaga, who released the album Chromatica earlier this year, made the official announcement via her Instagram page on Thursday. It will mark the first time Gaga gets to do a live performance from her new album since its release.
This is a great year for Gaga to return to the VMA stage. She’s leading the nominations this year with nine total: for Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Pop, Best Quarantine Performance, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, and Best Choreography. With Chromatica being an album where Gaga goes back to her roots with a more elevated electro-pop/disco/house music vibe, this years performance surely will be as iconic as any of her previous.
But who else will perform at the 2020 VMA’s?
Earlier in August, BTS revealed they would be performing which will mark the first time the K-Pop group have ever performed at the MTV VMAs. They also announced that the performance will serve as the debut of their new, english-only single, Dynamite, which is said to be released August 21st.
Others also set to perform as part of the event include Doja Cat, J Balvin, The Weeknd, Roddy Ricch, Maluma and CNCO.
The VMAs will feature outdoor performances throughout New York City to pay tribute to the area hit hardest by the coronavirus pandemic earlier this year.
Keke Palmer hosts the 2020 MTV VMAs live on Sunday, August 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
